Digital Humanities Projects
Projects that partners bring to the Lab or that grow organically from the relationships it creates.
Our digital humanities work redistributes authorship, counters colonial erasures, and promotes the agency of Indigenous and other marginalized women within digital spaces. The flagship example expands on the Laboratório Mulheres Indígenas na Wikipédia (Indigenous Women on Wikipedia Lab), established in 2020 and recognized by Universidade Federal Fluminense in 2024 as a social technology.

Established in 2020 and recognized by the Universidade Federal Fluminense as a social technology in 2024, the lab transforms Wikipedia into a tool of epistemic justice — redistributing authorship, countering colonial erasures, and fostering knowledge produced by Indigenous women, with bilingual Portuguese–English content.

In developmentWomen's Leadership in Labor Unions
Growing from Dr. Emily E. LB. Twarog's ten years of collaboration with labor organizations beyond the US, particularly in Turkey. Through the Lab, the work expands with the Initiative for Women's Empowerment Association (IFWE), a newer Turkish NGO, alongside continued collaboration with the International Trade Union Confederation to document rates of women's leadership in labor unions.
