The Lab launches at BRASA in Salvador

Gender@Work launches publicly at the Brazilian Studies Association conference in Salvador, Bahia — with a field activity photographically documenting sites where Black women worked as street vendors in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The images join Wikimedia and the Depository.

The Writing Group convenes for the first time

The first monthly virtual writing session drew 19 registrations and 12 attendees from six campuses across Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, the UK, and the US — mutual support, shared research, and pomodoro-method writing intentions. Registration has since grown to 35 people across five continents.

The Speakers' Bureau makes its first classroom visit

Dr. Courtney Campbell (University of Birmingham) guest-lectured in GWS 575 Transnational Feminisms, taught by Prof. Elisa Frühauf Garcia — the first of the Bureau’s classroom exchanges connecting students directly with the scholars behind the texts they study.
